Claire is a staff attorney in the labor and employment practice group at ReedSmith. She provides global support to the firm’s clients on labor, employment, and litigation challenges. Claire is an accomplished management-side employment attorney with a wide range of experience, including providing advice and counsel about compliance with laws and regulations; representing companies in connection with EEOC and other federal and state agency investigations; defending claims in federal and state court involving employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and whistleblower protection; and prosecuting trade secret and non-compete claims. She is very knowledgeable about compliance with ADA, ADEA and FMLA issues.
In addition, Claire provides support to corporate employers when drafting and implementing workplace policies and procedures on topics such as equal employment opportunity, wage and hour, employee attendance and leave, and progressive discipline. Claire is often involved with training and educational initiatives, such as training sessions regarding positive employee relations and prevention of sexual harassment claims.
Prior to joining the firm, Claire defended employers in employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation claims. Claire also advised employers of varying sizes facing employment issues related to hiring, termination, disability accommodation, employee leave, separation and non-disclosure agreements, and restrictive covenants.
